BLIZZARD HITS 1.5 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS
FOR WORLD OF WARCRAFT
Blizzard Entertainment just announced that its popular MMORPG World of Warcraft has surpassed 1.5 million subscribers in North America, Korea, and Europe.
Europe - Released in Feb. 2004, in its first weekend over 290,000 account creations and 180,000 peak concurrency. Today there are over 500,000 players.
Korea - Released on Jan. 18, 2005 and played in most Korean Internet Game Rooms (PC Bang).
North America - Released on Nov. 23 2004, in the game's first 24 hours over 200,000 account creations. Today there are 800,000 players.
China - Blizzard is preparing to launch WoW in China, where over 100,000 users signed up for beta weeks before launch.
